What coil to choose

Hi, I been having a very annoying surge in my car. So Fastbird93 on this board been helping me out doing few scan and trying to find out what the problem is. Well today we spent few hours scanning the car and adjuesting the IAC. Then Fastbird93 noticed that there's was a bit of stumble when you give it some gas and winded up looking the coil. To begin with the coil was upside down, and it's the stock one. How I know it's stock the ribets are still there. We ran it through one of his coils and it seemed to run away better. So i decided to get a new coil and 160 stat Thermo. For for the coil what should i get Crane Cam, MSD or Hypertech. And for the thermo which one SLP or Hypertech. Thanks for all the help, sorry it's soo long.

for thermo, just go to autozone, and get a 160* one, it will be like 5 bucks, works the same, saves some money.

That thermostat WILL NOT work on an LT1! It's not designed for a reversed cooled engine. If you are doing a 160* stat, you need to get a Hypertech one or another which was designed specifically for the LT1.

As for the coil, I would go with a stock GM replacement, although I have used an MSD in the past and didn't have any problems with it.

That is a rumour and it's about aftermarket ignitions, not coils, but who knows. I choose to go with GM replacement coils since they work fine and they are meant for your car.
