I recently had a oil pump pickup tube fall out even though it was welded and a piece of the weld was sucked up into the pump. It scored the drive gears in the pump itself but was curious to if there was a possibility that I messed up the drive gear assembly. Im fairly certain that there wasnt any further damage but its hard to tell with what little tear down that Ive done. Id like to save the time of taking the intake off to doing other things if possible. What do you guys think? TIA.

Don't know. I almost would be scared not to look at the oil pump drive. If the pump locked up (even for a moment), no telling what could have damage.
