what is causing this noise?

Every time i come to a stop, or go over a speed bump, i hear a creaking noise coming from the rear...it almost sounds like when you step on a woodem floor in a house...is it just the rear springs contracting and retracting? I have no idea wha it could be, or what could make it go away..any ideas?

Mine just started to do it recently. Look into some subframe connectors.

more and likely its your trunk hatch. When you go over a bump next time turn around and look at where the trunk latches in the middle. I bet that it moves up and down quite a bit. Thats what mine does. I got the same noise. I got some SFC's and it got rid of a lot of the noises my car was making. So if you don't have those yet i would recommend you get some. They are a great mod.

I have a weird noise too but it's whenever I turn the steering wheel seems to be getting more frequent and I'm getting worried. I hope it's the rack and pinion cause I got a lifetime warrenty on it. It sounds like a thumb or slight quick knock sometimes it will do several small ones. Any ideas?

Once i got my subframe connectors I got rid of most of the noises in my car. I get the same squeeking your describing too and it is coming from the rear hatch area. Its not the springs but, after i tightened up everything in the back, the noise is almost nonexistent now. Now the only noise i have left is my damn exhaust, I knew putting that off-raod pipe on would open up some new nopises Ha Ha Ha
