Question What Cat-Back Exhaust should i go with ?

I have been going throught the forms now and was supprised to see so many ppl saying how the Loudmouth is not to good..
i have always been under the impression that it was a good exhaust system was i wrong???? I was thinking about ordering A loudmouth but decided to search througt the forms to see what ppl thought. Glad i did.

If the Loudmouth is that bad. then what system should i go for. I know alot of ppl like the Borla Exhauts but its a lil more than I would like to spend but hey if its the best. Is the Dynomax Exhaust any good or any of the other types a good ehxaust..

Im not much on the LOUD sound. I love the camed up throaty sound of the old muscle cars mmmm muscle cars i was born way to late

P.S. sorry if i spelled some things wrong in a hurry and dont got time to spell check it

Do another search and read everything. If you don't want a loud system, go with the Hooker cat-back. I myself have the Flowmaster. It has a really good sound and tone (a little louder than the Hooker from what I've read), but could be a little louder.

Get a magnaflow. I have it and love it, best $300 I ever spent. It is also the closest thing to a cut out, hp wise that is. Supposidly it is within 1 or so hp of a cutout, but no where near as loud. definately sounds good though. I can tell you where to get it really cheap if you are interested.

i am also debating about what to do for an exhaust system (cat-back). i do not want to spend the $ for a borla and do not know what to do. i came up w/ the idea of buying 2 dynomax bullets w/ tips and having custom piping from the cat made, but i dont know how much that would run me and if it would pass emissions and how it would sond. i need it to still pass emissions in MA.

If you dont have to worry about emissions, I would cut the cats off and run the bullets underneath your car. Put the bullet where you car should be and run a turn down off of the bullet. You wouldnt believe how mean this makes your car sound!

I was thinking about running one bullet about mid way out the car but i heard that there would be a lot of rasp. And that it would be annoyingly loud all the time. I mean loud is cool but i dont want to get tired of it. Then i was told that i should go with the hooker catback but i am not sure about that either. Finally i think i am just going to run a cutout. But i wish i knew what exhaust setup gave the most HP increase. Just my .02 cents.

there has to be more than this Im sure alot of ppl have a diff exhaust on thier Lt-1 tell us what ya got, how much you like/diss like it, what you gave for it and where you got it from. I would really like to know what one i want. and if its possible could you describe what it sounds like ex.. louder then stock or more throtier than stock (think i spelled that one wrong)

I have a hooker catback and the rest of my car is pretty much stock (mods in sig.) I think it sounds very nice and i have got nothing but compliments so far. loud enough, doesnt drone, not raspy, deep sound. not many people have soundclips of it but it sounds nice. plus the hooker tips just look really good

i know it may cost more, but borla is great, for me anyway. you can adjust the sound if it is too loud. hard decision

I've had a Flowmaster cat-back for 2 years now but I'm replacing it with a random tech cat-back because it started to rust real bad. The flowmaster sounded pretty good and I got several compliments about it. I welded on 3.5" tailpipes that are 24" long and it got really loud at WOT.

The reason why I bought the random tech cat-back is because its cheap, 315$, few people use it and its a straight through design (no baffles or restrictions) If any 3" catback makes more than the random tech, it can't be more than 2-3hp. I haven't put it on yet so I don't know how it will sound.
