Cam surge is something you get with aftermarket camshafts and improper computer tuning. It cause the car to buck under 2000rpm. Its most noticable in an M6 car in first gear at around 10mph, like when going through a parking lot. It makes you look like you don't know how to drive a stick-shift. I think the term is it "grasshoppers"

high lift cams cause surge, the lack of airflow thru the intake ports!,at low rpms the fuel and air just dont mix all that well and thus cam surge, good tuning can alleviate some but not all!
