What is the biggest Cam that passes emissions?

I'm just wondering, but what is the biggest cam a non-stroked LT1 could have in it, and still pass the sniffer?

This is assuming that all the major bolt ons are done

LT's, CAI, and so on ... And a good tune as well.

Also, with mildly or moderately ported heads would that allow a bigger cam to be more effeciant ( Emmisions-able ) ?

I know the hot cam can, so id assume the CC305 does? What about the CC306 though, Id assume NOT ... ?

If they actaully bother to look for em is anyones guess though. One of my buddys worked at an emissions testing place and a trick they used on louder sounding "sports cars" was to ask Qs like what motor is it an LT1 or LS1 and is it OBD1 or OBD2 and stuff like that. If you knew the answers and seemed to know about cars they went through your car with a fine tooth comb. Act dumb and be like, its a " super high output 350" or something lol make em think your a wanna be car guy
LOL, wish that did work, if they knew your a dumbass they'd probably look to see what you got then.

CC305 on a 114* LSA is about as far as you'd want to push it IMO.

Long tubes are a go, i just need ot have a cat, egr and air, AND PASS a sniffer ... Im not doing a cam for a while, i was jsut wondering though cause an idiot at school said a hot cam would fail, and instead of argueing, i figured id try to see how much bigger you can go on a non stroked engine ...

And jsut a guess about the MSD ... But here goes .. Better spark = better burning in each cylinder. The better the fuel is burned, the less raw fuel passes through the exhaust, and the less raw fuel , the better the emissions

Damn im good.

You should be glad you are not in CA. They do a visual
inspection, hook up to the OBD connector, and put the
car on a chassis dyno and run it with a sniffer.

On the cam I concur with SS MPSTR. Which is why I am
going with a Crane 227, which is even easier to pass.

I've seen where the 305 passed in California.

On a mildly modded car, it really makes no difference. Go into the testing with fresh oil, a good state of tune and all your emission equipment functioning, and you'll be fine.

i think someone posted last year they passed a CA emissions with a 306 by putting the stock tune in for the test, then put his old program back in when he was home. i'm pretty sure it was the 306...
