your rear will need to be beefed up... or it will not hold that kinda pressure
look for slicks or et streets...

horsepower is not the cause of rearend death... pressure is...
when you have slicks... you can rev the car up to 3500 on the line... dump the clutch and the tires hook immediatly... basically no spin at all... that puts ****LOAD of pressure on the rearend
by beefed up... i mean a moser 12 bolt
or at least something alot better than these crap stock 10 bolts... if you want it to last anyways

He never said that he wanted to run slicks though...
If you want to run the drag radials, you will more than likely be fine, but don't surprised if you hook really well one time and blow the rear end...
As far as normal street tires, I have been looking for tires for a while and it looks like I am gonna go with the Firestone Firehawk SZ50's, they seem to have the highest dry traction rating on tirerack for a street tire....check them out

I run em.
Low price, hook great, great in the rain as long as they have tread.
Dont last long (12-15k if you arent hard on them), sidewall flex is noticeable under hard cornering
I put a TA girdle on my rear just incase. But even with out the girdle it'd be fine.. as long as u dont drop the clutch all the time.
My Bridgestone RE730's could not hook worth a crap, but they sure could handle well.

what will a girdle do where do i get it and how much is it???
and side wall flex???
I have the nittos. They are awesome for straightline, but once you get into the twisties you can feel the sidewall flex. by the way i have 245 50 16's. The other thing i dont like is that i hate to have fun with them (burnouts and donuts) because they just fall apart. But like i said, they are awesome for traction in a straight line. I am thinking of going with the Potenza RE730's also. I heard they are the greatest.

If I were you I would go with the goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's.. I have the nitto 555r's on now and i hate them... I love to have fun with my car... My nittos lasted about 5,000 miles.. I cant even drive over 40 in the rain.. I will never buy them again!! I was going to get the firestone firehawk SZ50 EP's but I have a friend that has had both and he says the goodyears blow the firestones away! Im going with the goodyears in about a month. I have the regular salad shooter rims too.
