What are the best LT1 heads?????

I was trying to figure out what are the best set of heads you can get for an LT1...... Which ones flow the best and put out the most power on a stroker application like my 388. This mean bigger valves too. I heard modified/ported polished/bigger valved LT4 Heads make the most power. Not sure if it's correct.

Thanks for input.

Gotta ask.... how much coin you wanna spend? Cause if there is no limit then, well there is no limit. BTW there is ALWAYS a limit to the coin, ALWAYS!

Re: What are the best LT1 heads?????

and what do you want to call an "LT1 head" for absolute money is no object build I think few would argue with a converted set of SB2.2s. For a more realistic build lookin g to go beyond what stock castings can deliver(a lot more than most would believe) then the Trickflows already mentioned are great if you get them worked. That is what the fastest LT1 Impala wears, full weight consistent 9s at Vegas altitued, blown too.

Converted Brodix 18 degree heads

Converted SB2.2 heads

Converted Arao 32V heads... oh wait, those are a myth

Re: What are the best LT1 heads?????

AFR 210/220/227 are the best flowing out-the-box bolt-on head. The 210 is pretty close to a true bolt-on, while the 220 and 227 require some special valvetrain components. My 210 Race Readies flowed 280/218 cfm peak. I'm a little disenchanted, though, in the slow-burn chambers, especially in a turbo application. They require 36+ deg timing to get max power.

Re: What are the best LT1 heads?????

So if my stock heads are ported and polished and flow 250+ then they would be fine with stock valves to make atleast 500hp+??? That's all im really needing because this is what I have but wanted to know what exactly are the best heads.

Those flow numbers will BARELY get ya to 500FWHP and everything else Better be spot on.
It would be easier to do it with bigger flow numbers 280-300CFM.

They asked how much money you are willing to spend and you haven't responded yet so how are we supposed to know? The best heads would be the SB 2.2 heads, but you better have $$ coming out of your *** to use those.
