This may sound crazy, but I use stock foil type manifold gaskets with my headers. Never any leaks. I also use Stage 8 locking header bolts.

same here, but sometimes I'll double them up on cheap headers if the flange is a little wavy

I use mr. gasket with acousti seal on both sides of the gasket. Drivers side has been leak free for sometime now. Passenger side needs to be done.

This is what I did on my new 383 motor...no leaks at all...get the normal felpro header gaskets and a set of split lock header bolts (breslin is no longer around but there are a few companies who still make them, one in australia i think, by far the BEST header bolts made)....

Soak the header gasket in warm water for 10 minutes before installing....put them on (while still wet) with the split lock bolts and then tighten the allen on the head to lock them in place. I did this last year and no leaks what so ever.

i'm guessing it makes it so the gasket forms to the surfaces better? sounds like a good idea to me.

This is what I did thanks to NVetro's idea. Seems to seal just fine. Haven't had to re-tighten the breslins, not even once!

I am, however, still trying to figure out how to stop that stupid slip fit primary from leaking

stock exhaust manifold gaskets, and never had a problem, plus they are only 5 bucks a set.
