What are all the cheap mods I can do?

Like weight reduction, MAF, and whatnot..

Is there like a list of all of them somewhere?

Don't remove the screen from the MAF. I attended a class put on by Standard automotive parts. They informed us that the screen straightens the airflow for more accurate measurement by the MAF. The turbulence created by removing it can throw off the accuracy and be more detrimental than anything else.

If you use a cotton filter, don't over oil it.

It wont throw the reading off much at all. You should just get a tune for it. Gain, maybe if you are running some major numbers. Cheap mods...how cheap?

T.B. Bypass-free or almost free
T.B. Airfoil- Like $20-30 used in the for sale section
Crank Pulley and Belt- Like $50-60 used or $100 new
160* Therm. Stat and Tune- Like $30 for the stat and $100 for a mail order tune (matters what kind of car you have and year)
Used Cai-$120 or so
Short Shifter- Don't know I have an auto

There are a couple.

If you haven't already, you can disable C.A.G.S. for free.

C.A.G.S.- computer aided gear selection. The factory added this to improve mileage. It locks out 2nd and 3rd gears at slow speeds, so you have to shift 1st to 4th... PITA!

you can eliminate it here. You can also eliminate CAGS with a resistor to some wire under the transmission, but I found this way to be the easiest for me, just remove two wires to the comp. When you're done, no cags and no skip shift light either.

Anytime the MAF size changes, the programming to understand it has to be changed. The experts say, don't mess with the MAF.
