What the?
I am cursed. I got my new opti installed and during the process, found a burnt plug wire on the driver side. Replaced it and put heat sleeve on the wire cuz it was touching the header. Drove home and the car ran great again! Then, after about 5 miles misfire all over the place! Runs awful. I get home, reseat the plugs on the driver side and restart. Better..but I hear a tick like a arc and when I look underneath (which is hard with the gfx) I see a red light flashing on the garage floor? When I look from up top, I see nothing even in the pitch black garage. But underneath, red light flashing in a steady rhythmn. WTF, plug wire burned? I am about to put this car in the hood and take the insurance money I tell ya.
I guess...(sigh). The color was so red, like the security light was pointed to the garage floor. Weird, I was looking for blue/yellow. But after all my probs, I think I am close to solution. Putting headres on this car, in retrospect, was a bad decision.
Instead of turning your back on it, why don't you spend the $100 for an over-the-valve cover kit from Thunder Racing and 2 hours of your time installing it? I'll never burn a wire again...and it looks great.
Glad to be back, and thanks!
No...there are no kits that are pre-cut. You'll need to cut, strip, and crimp them yourself. It can become a pain in the *** after awhile, but trust me when I say it's WELL worth it!
