The 235/55-16 was the standard tire. 245/50-16 tires will fit just fine. It was a performance option from the factory.

235/55/16 is standard
245/50/16 was the optional speed rated tire
Your rim size is 16x8
The tire you have on your car now should fit without a problem. So you can replace it with the exact same tire (255/50/16. I'd stick to the 245/50/16 on the stock rim though. Get yourself some Kuhmo Ecsta tires, they seem to be a great tire for the price. Anything will fit and work properly with your speedo though as long as its 255 or 245/50/16

I've got the Kuhmo Ecsta's in the 245 size. I like them a lot. Great tire for the price.

I have the Kumho 255/50/16's on a set of salad shooters in my garage. They fit just fine. The width difference is barely noticeable.

The salad shooter is not the straight five spoke!
The five spokes were on '97 up cars... salad shooters were '93-96

Yes, even though they don't LOOK the same as mine, they still fit the same. The 255's ARE JUST FINE. THEY WILL FIT YOUR WHEELS.

That's cause you got a firebird or TA then.

We were arguing about Z28 wheels for some reason... our bad.
