Are heads/cam a waste of time on a car where the bottem end will have 90k miles on it.
I plan to put on Hooker LT's and y pipe this year, but wanted to build a motor this winter but looking at all the stuff I would need to get I think that will have to wait.
I could prolly afford $2k which would just about cover heads and cam package.

damm a shortblock build would run another $3-4k if I did it myself which I have no experience w/either. :O

IMO I wouldn't rebuild the motor unless it needed it. Go with the heads and cam package. Thats what I would do.

i guess I'll have a compression test and leak down test done to see how the rings and what not are. But even if that's good I guess my mains could be half crap and ready to give out once power approached 350HP or so.

Well I may do that anyway, I just can't afford to do it all, at least not for several years and who the hell wants to wait.
