Weld in or Bolt On LCAB??

What is the diffrence and which is better? Weld In or Bolt In Lower Control Arm Brackets? Thinking about the Lowring Package that Thunder Racing Sells for 35- which includes, the Panhard Rod, Lowering Springs and your choice of Weld In or Bolt In LCA BRackets.

Any Info of this subject will be appreciated.

bolt ins

im a fan of the bolt in ones cuz 1. they're easier cuz you dont have to pay someone to weld them in. and 2. id worry less about breaking a bolt than i would about breaking a weld. but thats just me

I have the welded LCA brackets. I felt that the bolt-ins would not be as solid and would require checking and tightening. The brackets seems to have really increased my traction at the track.

If your paying someone who is competent at welding, the weld should be a LOT stronger. They should be really cheap to get welded in. I think they both work, but some people claim the weld in are better, it's just up to you. I have weld in ones.

Is this something that is fairly simple to remove and install? I have done work on my car before so I know I could do the Bolt in ones but I dont want to pay someone labor to remove them just to weld the new ones in.

I'd do both.

I had mine welded in, and on the pass. side, it pulled out... the second time it was rewelded, it pulled out again but that time it ALSO took a piece of the stock LCA mounting area out with the bracket (not part of the weld).

Now, after putting bolts through the top stock hole, and having it welded, it seems solid.

I don't even have that much power either... just stock engine + 100-150 shot.

Come on guys! Is there no one here with bolt ins with an opinion?
Have they come apart or loosened up? Would you do use them again? If I buy them am I just wasting my time and money?
I'm sure some one here has the bolt ins. What do you think of them?
Thanks, Gregory

Thumbs up

I just finished installing my BMR LCA's with bolt-on relocation brackets. After taking it for a test drive I honestly noticed that the traction was much improved and riding over bumps feels more solid as the tires do not bounce around. The install was super easy. All you need is a good floor jack, jack-stands and wrenches. Don't forget to pre-lube the outside of the bushings and then only one pump with the grease gun. Make sure you jack the rear end up as far as you can before torquing the bolts down.

I went with poly bushings on both ends and I have the BMR lowering springs, which was the main reason for the relocation brackets. I also have the adjustable PHB.
