weird oil leak

There is actually 2 messed up oil leaks.

1. I have OTVC plug wires. I had to get longer bolts to support the looms. There is oild leaking from the bolts, is there a proper fix? Or just some kind of Rtv?

2. The timing chain cover bolts are leaking, is this this a common problem? Is it ok to torque down the bolts? or pull them out and thread seal them or somethin? i dont understand why bolts would leak

Appreciate any input.

I see you have 1.6 RR. Did you clearance your stock valve covers? If so, did you remove the brackets inside entirely? If you removed the bolt "guide" that the bolt runs through, it will leak out the top and there's nothing you can do to fix it. I tried nylon washers, etc and the oil always found a way out. If you hacked up your valve covers, pick up a set used. I got a set from jazy1799 or something and he got them to me real quick.

This is all the clearance you need:

Aside from that, I have the otvc kit as well and as long as you tighten the bolts down good they don't leak - mine haven't anyway.

As far as the other bolts, you can try to give them another turn or so until they're at the proper torque spec. I've never had a bolt leak so I can't tell you.

I will say that when I had a leaky seal (the one that went behind the water pump, where it's a bitch to get on without breaking), it would leak, and the fans would blow the oil all over, making it look like things that weren't leaking really were.
