weird noise

weird noise

im havin this weird noise 4rom my z. it seems like any hard acceleration it starts happening. its a weird sort of grinding noise. it comes 4rom under my driners seat. i feel it under my leg. my ges is my drivers side header is hitting the undercarriage. bcuz it stops after it shifts. it seems 2 me that it only does it at higher rpm's. u guys got any ideas???

I dont think that it would be your headers grinding on your undercarrage. Is it a grinding or a small vibration.

its more of a grinding noise. at first i thought it was the asr bcuz it made the sade when my low trac light came on. but i turned that off and it still did it

Shorty headers? There are some clearance problems with those on our cars. Mine hit my k-member when the engine torques up and stops it from further accelerating.

no mines are longtubes. but that sounds kinda like my situation. it does it most around 3000 rpm but eases up further up. wat did u do 2 stop it???

Check the tranny mount and motor mounts.

I'd also check the driveplate/torque converter area. I just replaced my driveplate since it had a large crack right down the middle of it. It would cause a rather loud rattle/vibration that I could feel through the floorboard while driving. And it would happen at specific RPM's more often than not.
