weird gas mileage

i check my mpg every time i fill up, and usually i get about 180 miles on 12.4-.8 gallons. this is all city. that ends up around 14mpg. is this normal? but when i drove to austin from dallas this weekend on a full highway tank varying from 75-85 the whole time and a few trips to a 100 , i got 32mpg with the a/c on the whole time and my girlfriend in the car. what could cause my city mpg to be so low. would changing the fuel filter get me better mpg? i recently had the oil changed and the tech said it looked like the original filter was on. car has 53k on it with a m6.

I haven't driven my car pure high way in a long time, need to go and see what kind of gas mileage I can get, but the car doesn't have a/c so that kinda warants taking another car. I can get about 225 off a tank if I really let it get low.

I checked mine last week, I was at 17mpg. That is mixed city and highway (65% city, 35% highway). That included a heavy foot, and about 10 miles doing 90 mph and flooring it constantly (playing with some cars on the freeway)

I just got 200 miles to a tank. I had a big heavy foot day today though, i have noticed...the LT-1 has great fuel economy on the highway while just cruising

You have that 6 spd and the 6th gear is at a .5 ratio. That is why you get awsome highway mileage. I get about 12-14 around town, and about 25-27 on the highway with my 6spd
