weather stripping on ram air box-ok to remove?

is it alright to remove the weather stripping that lines the face of the ram air box? its making it hard for my hood to close.

is it there just to help create a better seal for the air to be sucked through the hood?

Yes, thats why it is there, so your not sucking in the hot engine air.

The better question you should be asking is how do I line up and fit my hood properly so that my ram air box fits properly.

or maybe its your airbox thats not in hte right spot

I took the weatherstripping and glued it to the hood instead of the airbox... works awesome that way...
