I know the electric waterpump might sound like a good idea to most but i would prefer to keep things inexpensive and stock. Autozone has one for 47 dollars that I might give a shot.

I found the leak.... sort of.

The coolant is leaking from the waterpump i believe, but not from the weephole but rather the waterpump driveshaft in the back. There is a tiny gap that i can shine a light in from the side and i see a little bit of coolant on top of the opti. There is no other leak point.

The Haynes manual says nothing about this being a leak point. Do you think the pump is bad due to this leak? or do you think the pump is ok and i just need to replace an o-ring or something on this splined driveshaft?

Maybe someone out there has had this odd leak before and can chime in.

Thanks
Be safe and replace the pump, the opti will thank you....

and yes that is a leak point.

If that's a "ProCool" brand remanufactured water pump for $47, I'd stay away. I bought one of those, and the threads for the thermostat cover bolts stripped out. Making it junk. Big waste of time.

Also forgot to tell you (Maybe you already figured it out. The piece that connects the waterpump the the Cam does not come with the new pump. You have to pop it off the old pump. Mine had to be pryed off the old one. (Lightly with a flatheaded screwdriver) Good luck
