I'm in the process also, and mine also didn't come with the plug. It is a 1&1/8" 'deep' plug, I got it from Napa for something like 39cents along with a set of gaskets for around $2. Have you pressed/pounded out the old bearing yet? How difficult was it?
I screwed up, tried to press the bearing out the wrong way... and ended up cracking the housing. Now I'm eagerly waiting for a replacement, and will definitely do it the right way this time

Oh, the size I mentioned is for the WP housing... never read/heard anything about having to plug the timing cover. Does anyone else know if it's necessary?

Cool, so you just pushed the shaft right through the impeller and drive the bearing out at the same time?

a buddy of mine took mine apart and i wasnt home to see how it was done but he said it was easy to do, he used my bearing press though. but i know a hammer will do the trick though,

Just remove the front cover off the pump and pound on the center of the impellor, on the end of the shaft. I used a socket extension as a punch. It all came out pretty easy.
