Waterpump differences (Mez, Mez HD, CSI)
Waterpump differences (Mez, Mez HD, CSI)
What is the difference in the meziere HD and the regular meziere LT1 h20 pumps? Also, should I go with either of the afformentioned pumps or simply go the CSI route? Thanks.
Mez is a bit more expensive than CSI, but it's a direct replacement...
CSI is a bit cheaper than Mez, but the housing needs to be ground a bit in order for it to fit...
People seem to like CSI better...I've head some bad stories with the HD Mez...

A friend runs the Mez HD, and has had no trouble with it so far. It indeed was a drop in replacement, and couldn't be simpler to install. I have (well, WILL have as soon as I finish putting the motor together) a CSI, and it indeed does have four "ears" that you have to clearence the pump housing for. It's not really that big of a deal though. All I did was set the pump on the housing, used three bolts (longer) to line up the pump and housing, and then marked the ear locations with a sharpie. You can get a carbide open cut bit (doesn't clog up when cutting aluminum) that is about the same radius as the ears on the pump, and when your done it looks like it was machined to fit. Really pretty simple.
I can't speak for the CSI in terms of performance or longesvity (yet), but the install was not that big a deal.

Isn't the CSI rated for 1000hours while the Meziere is 2500? I thought i remembered reading that awhile back. A local shop quoted me 220 today out the door for a regular meziere, which is about the same as summit after shipping is calculated in
