How do you know the waterpump went out? Did it start dripping or has the waterpump been dripping for a while? If it has it probably dripped onto the opti and ruined it causing the misfiring. Either way not a hard job at all. I did it my 1st time a month ago in about 2-3 hours. That included replacing the opti.

i really don;t know..ok first i was getting on it like i always do at this one spot and i started to smell coolant i got home i saw my hose going to the pump..the ac line was linking right were it goes onto the pump so i cut it and put it back on..i started it back up it was misfiring and i took it for a ride and the temp was warm then normal so i got home pop the hood and i could hear water in my pump just boiling and making noise its not leaking from the front so i guess it leaking in the back wear the opti is..i don;t believe it head gasket

Yeah, it sounds like the water pump may be taking out the opti.

Just get your standard replacement parts from GM. It doesn't seem like you really need anything more than that. They have all that stuff on Summit and other parts distributors online.
