Waterpump

Call me dumb. But, how does the waterpump work on an LT1? There's no pulley or anything to turn the impeller. How?

Camshaft. This creates a question from me, How much power could you free up with a electric pump?

I will defenitly wait for mine to break, the cost of those pumps aren't worth 10 ponies

Is the cost of a catback exhaust worth 10HP?

good point. most people go with an elec. water pump during a cam or opti install, usually depending on what timing set they go with. ~$200 for an elec. water pump isn't that bad for ~10 to the rear wheels...

like mr ramair95ta stated, we usually spend more on a catback...

I see where your going but when I bought my catback it wasn't for 10hp it was in preparation for my future top end build. But yeah point taken

I would think there would be a problem with the water pump drive gear with out the mechanical pump connected to it. since the water pump holds up one end of the water pump drive... but I guess its not realy a problem since there have been many people that have done it.

The waterpump drive gear is supported in two spots, the bearing in the block and the timing cover seal. I completely removed the drive shaft when I did my Cloyes install.
