i have a 97 lt1, i'm installing an electric water temp gauge. where does the sender temp unit go and how do i get to it?? do i have to drain any fluids?

The location of the stock gauge is in the driver's side head near the front. It is fairly hard to get to but not nearly as hard as it's counterpart on the passenger side right head in the rear. What is the matter with your stock one?
