Water pump question

If you replace the water pump does it come with a thermostat?? I was wondering if when the mechanic put on my new water pump he didn't use my 160* thermostat!!

I'll bet that's one of the reasons my fans come on when the car warms up!! I have the fans programmed for a 160* thermostat!!! Thanks. Im gonna have it changed just to make sure. All the fan problems started right after the water pump was changed.

yeah most come with the stock 180 degree therm.

is their any thermostats lower than 160? when i ran no thermostat for a couple days i felt a little more horsepower. or is runnign no termstat bad for the car anyways??

Yes, very. The motor will not warm up enough, and will run rich. The oil will become gasoline fouled, which will cause it to not lubricate as well and sludge deposits will form.
