I am installing an electric water pump and was wondering what the best way to get the old impeller and bearing out was? I heard people say you have to press it out from front to back but if that is how how do you get the impeller off?

The shaft can go out the back, but the impeller will just fall off when you push out the shaft in a press or with a hammer & socket or whatever you end up using.

 

so i do have to push it out from the impeller side?
