Water pump prob's....

My Water pump finally died yesterday, so it's just gushing water out now...Does anyone know where I can get the best price on one? Also should I go with an electric over a mechanical one (Assuming the price is comparable).

The car is a 1995 Z28...

Also, really dumb question but since the propeller and insides still work in the pump why all of a sudden does it go bad?

Thanks in advance...

Call Autozone, you can get a Reman for about $50. A new one for about $130. If it is a daily driver, I wouldn't worry with an electric pump. And failure on the waterpump is the seal finally giving out; usually.
