Water pump noise..think it's dead

Well...just after I got my A/C working I have this horrible noise coming from the engine and the engine got a little hot. I double checked the radiator while the engine was running and didn't see ANY coolant moving. Man this sucks...the A/C stuff was expensive.

Now for the million dollar question..while I'm down there doing the water pump (probably electric..why not) should I do the opti? It's not giving me any trouble or anything, but I'm worried that once I change out the WP the damn opti will die.

Opinions??
TIA

I have no idea how many miles on the opti..the car itself has 172K...if I have the cash I may look at either the Deltec or the LTCC...

Weird thing is nothing was seeping from the weep hole, just this "marbles in a can" sound. I think the damn gear that drives it bit the dust. It was loud enough that I could hear it from in the car and definately hear it outside while it was running. I'm hoping today I can tear it apart and see whats up.
I'm interested in the Deltec or LTCC, I just have to add it all up and see what the total cost of each is.
