Nope no real tricks.. Should be pretty much plug and play.. Get new gasket's of course. if they don't come w/ the pump.. and you should be fine /w just putting a light coat of rtv on the pump side to hold the gasket's in place.. and i mean LIGHT!! just enough to hold them.. and aid in sealing.. All surfaces should be cleaned as well.. try to drain all the coolant out of th epump area as well.. Shop vac work's well too.. It will dump butt load of coolant on the opti.. Thats' not good.. That should bepretty much it.. enjoy..

Its always a good idea to drain the block/heads of all coolant before pulling it and you wont get coolant all over yourself..Do this by removing the knock sensor that is located beside your pass. side engine mount and has 1 wire going to it..Also remove the coolant temp sensor on the drivers side of block between cylinders 1 and 3..

g'luck!

Removing one of the radiator fans can give you extra room if you need it. Just 4 extra bolts, piece of cake.

Only other thing is make sure you get all the old gasket material off the block!!! It tends to bake itself on real bad and try to become part of the block, spray can gasket remover works well here. Get all the old gasket meterial off or you will have a leak!!!!! Otherwise its pretty much strait forward, maybe a lil cramped though. If you dont wanna pull a knock sensor to drain the block at least wrap a good thick towel around the top of the opti and as soon as all the coolants out move the towel. Its about as safe as you can get unless maybe the motors cold and you can get some plastic up there. Huh thats a new idea i jsut though of hummm not a bad idea either huh.

Why not pull the drivers side block drain too [ a standard pipe plug] there's one there also..
