Water pump HAAALLLLPPPP!!!

Water pump commited suicide and took the opti with it, starting cheap w/ the NAPA RR218 rotor and cap to see what that will do, and got a new water pump.

PROBLEM: My water pump had a female splined shaft on it and the timing cover has a male protruding shaft. Napa has already taken the core and shipped it off.

The only water pump I can find has a male protruding shaft. I tried pulling the shaft out of the timing cover, but nothing, what am I missing? I had napa pull ALL LT1 pumps, and every single one of them had the shaft attached to the pump. What do I do know? I want to drive my beast bad

Thanks.

Jeff

Relax man, that shaft on the back of those waterpumps slips inside the shaft in your timing cover. By all means don't pull that one out.

Sounds like you might have left the coupling on your old water pump. Don't know if NAPA or other parts store would have one, but the dealer would.

Might try getting one from a bone yard. Could be worth it if they are $70 from the dealer.

or you could get one for free...

"nope, sorry amigo, didn't find what I was looking for"

It's only about the size of a AA battery.

Yeah, it lists for over $60, but wholesale ~$35.
GM PART # 10128334
Too much for such a little part. Try a boneyard, as suggested.
