Water pump drive mounting bore?

I'm assembling my 383 right now and I'm running an electric H2O pump. Do I need anything in the drive hole in the block like a plug or anything. I wouldn't think so, but don't want to find out later that I did.

After a more extensive search, it looks as those I don't need to do anything with the hole.

You can leave the block hole open, yes.

I found a freeze out plug that fit pretty snug and jb-welded it in there for good measure. I didn't feel comfortable with having a hole in my timing cover.

Well, I've got a TPiS billet timing cover, so that's not an issue. I was wondering about the hole in the face of the motor.

Yeah, he's talking about the bearing hole in the block, not the drive hole in the timing cover. If you left that open...hooboy!!

What? We used to call that self oiling feature 'rust prevention' in my old Jag...
