Question water pump coupler O rings.

Does any body know the size of the two water pump coupler O rings?

Number 156

I Hate to have to go to the dealer and spend around 6 bucks for the two of them.
Thanks,

I'm not sure, but from the looks of them they might not be just regular rubber o-rings. Plain rubber ones may not hold up very long.

I don't know I have not seen them in about 4 years but there toast after 4 years so I don't think they held that great.
I think regular O rings will work they only keep the grease in the coupler so.

Yea but I'm sure the dealer wants more.
Summit wants $2.99 each for them so.
I will call the dealer tomorrow and see If I get them I'm going to see if I can match them up to some in Home depot.

What I am saying is if they are "special" and only last that long, then regular o-rings will last even less long. So...

A dealer should never charge you more than list price. Comparing to Summit has no bearing on the matter. So...

For the amount of time and effort required to get the WP off, are you really concerned about an extra $6? Really?

I'd pay $6 NOT to have to take the WP off again for a long time...

Dealership prices can surprise you both ways so dont assume just check and then weigh your options. They were able to get any part I ordered timely and what I found was they weren't as pricey as I had assumed and its a nice feeling knowing your getting the right part. I personaly think they have had to drop their markups to stay competitve.

Your right
And money is supper tight right now I can't make it quick enough.
I have my 1971 Camaro in the shop getting all the body work done and of course unexpected things happen.

Yea I went to the dealer and they were $1.32 each so I'm happy.
They did tell me at the parts dep that I could use regular O rings.
I went to Home Depot and matched up perfectly to these.
DANCO #7 O-Rings (10-Pack) 96724 at The Home Depot
I'm going to use the GM O rings anyway.
But I might try them out if I put a LT1 I have in my 1971 Camaro because changing the water pump on that will be pretty easy.
Not like it's too bad to do on my 1997 Z28 that I'm changing out the Opti spark on right now.
Thanks Guys.
