Angry water everywhere :(

It all started one day when my water pump went out and the car over heated. Well I changed the water pump, and it was still over heating. So i put the t-stat in a pan and boiled it to see at what temp it was opening. The t-stat was sticking, so I bought a new 160 t-stat, and a new radiator cap. Well I have everything back together now, and it runs fine, takes a long time to heat up and will drive just fine when the car is moving, but when I stop the car temp goes up and coolant and water starts to come out of the over flow. What could be causing this problem???? Also if I start the car cold with the radiator cap off and let it run when it starts to circulate, the water starts coming out of the radiator like crazy. This is really driving me crazy. Can someone help me out on this.

Re: water everywhere :(

Fill the coolant throught filler neck on the waterpump. That will get ALL the air out. Then put the filler neck back on and fill the radiator with the bleed screws open. Should have an air free system using that procedure.

But also go out and pull the plug off your MAF sensor and start the car. What youll be looking for is both your radiator fans running. If they arent then the car will get hot in traffic.
