Alright guys, about a week ago, my temp gauge was going up and down, was pretty sure the air was all out, so I thought it might be the t-stat or radiator cap, changed both, well i just put the t-stat in, brand new, was going to put water in my car before i put coolant so i could make sure it stopped the problem then put the coolant in. Well while I was putting water in the car, i saw water at my feet , so i was is going on, looked under the car and there was water coming out somewheres from the engine, all i could tell was it was near mid or behind the engine because i could see the water leaking from above the oil pan hitting the pan. Where could this water be draining at???? Also when i went to take the other t-stat out, i notice that the radiator was empty and i did not drain it, it was sitting for about 3-4 days before i took the t-stat out, so what is going on??????

 

dude, check the waterpump weep hole. On the bottom of your waterpump, there is a hole that leaks when the bearing is shot. It's located above the opti...........

 

i know for sure it is not the water pump, that was the first thing i checked, because i just put that on not to long ago with a new opti, i making sure it was not hitting the opt, it was behind that somewhere in the middle or behind the engine coming out real fast, the only thing i can think of is the heater hose, but right now i'm not sure, any info would be great guys

 

There's a coolant tube that threads into the back of both heads and then runs up along the passenger side of the intake to remove air in the coolant system. Check the fittings for leaks.

i can see the water coming out but still can not tell where it exactly is coming from, it looks like it is near the driver side head in the middle, I also notice 2 round caps under my car where it look like the water was falling to. I dont know if these caps came off the car or not, maybe they were there when i pulled the car up there. Any more info would be great guys.

 

alright guys, I found the problem but dont have a clue what it is and how i put it back on, on the bottom side of the engine on both sides there are one metal cap on each side, well thats where the water is coming out, what would cause this, and how do I fix it?????

 

Are you talking about the freeze plugs?

they on the sides of the block?

 

they are on the bottom, on the left and right side of the bottom of the block

Yep, freeze plugs. Getting them back in is going to be a mighty fun job. How cold has it gotten this winter where you live?

 

yeah def gonna suck to put those things back in
