Warning about Accel "36" lb injectors

FWIW I've had 2 cars come in for tuning with Accel "36" lb injectors (designated by a printed number on the injector), which actually turned out to be 24lb/hr injectors.

Just something to be cautious of.

How can you tell they're 24s? What fuel pressure are you testing them at?

I should have been more specific. Stock fuel pressure regulators (43.5psi)

When programmed as 36lbs/hr, cars would barely run they were so lean.

As I've allready seen this problem once before, I changed the injector constant to 24lbs/hr and the cars ran perfectly with 128 blm's

Maybe I got lucky and got the real 36ers, I've been running mine for a while now, bought from Summit if I remember correctly more than 2 years ago, and they have propelled my car to the number in my sig with no more than 80 percent duty cycle and not goin lean, so maybe I got lucky.

I refuse to use accel injectors now. I had six bad sets out of eight(leaking or not even flowing).

MSD, Holley, Seki and the Racetroix line are good choices

I bought Accel 30# injectors ....

Heads will roll if this is the reason my car is running so lean.......

Accel injectors are absolutely terrible. They are inconsistent and they have stuck open NUMEROUS times causing engine failure due to the excess fuel. Nobody listens though. :blah:

I suppose I should have done more research on my injectors ... Thanks for the confirmation though - is there any way to test them - other than sending them out - Should I Simply get rid of them now and replace them? If so with what type of 30# injector?

You can probably have them flowmatched to ensure even flow, something that you shouldn't have to do with new injectors. The ones that failed weren't bad out of the box though.

If i were to use my stock chip which was for a 1993 camaro ( i think those are 24#'s that should run right - there is no difference between chips so maybe its not the injectors..

The Car Now Is Running Right!

Injectors....
Bad - Brand New Acel Injectors... That Are On Their Way Back To Summint For New 30# Svo Injectors.. Everyone Seems To Like The Svos And Have No Problems.!!!!!

Bottom Line

Do Not Buy Accel Injectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
