Wanting to go LT4

So I've decided to do the LT4 conversion although I know that GMPP stoped producing the LT4 intake.....not sure on the heads...would like to go to the LT4 though...anyone running the LT4 setup and how do you like it?

Re: Wanting to go LT4

Your gonna get gouged, and not get much faster.

For that kind of money, you can make a good bit more power, have your intake manifold powdercoated red, and call it a day.

For what you will pay you easily can put a LE1 or LE2 package on, and make ALOT more power. With an LE1, the idle quality isnt going to be too much different, and driveability would be close to the same.

Dont do it.

Unless you get a killer deal on it, dont do it. Theres cheaper ways to go much faster. But if you do go for it, get a bigger cam than the Hot Cam.

Re: Wanting to go LT4

Iam going to let every one know a little about the
lt4 setup I have the lt4 heads and intake bought
them 3years ago the whole thing cost 2250 shipped
branded new. I mayed 361 hp not much could have
got 400 for that price with a set of lt1 heads reworked
but know I have a gm847 cam and the heads and inake
were done by AI and it now make 430whp with a 355 bottom end
these head only flow 250 cfm range stock could be a little less but Iam
pretty sure they are close to that after my heads were ported
for under 1100 dollars with every thing done
and the cam and lifters springs timing chain and shipping I flow
just over 300cfm on the intake and just over 200 on the ehaust at .600 lift
it is a little more at .650 but that is getting into a lot of cam were iam getting at is these are close to afr numbers and for a little over 3000 dollars were can you get a afr setup with cam and lifters timing chain roller rockers pushrods and ect that will flow as good as my heads I know that the lt1 heads have made some good power by loyde or AI if you are going to just
get as much horse power for cheap and then by le3 setup great setup and makes nice power or if you are serious about power and heads
get a set of AFR'S with a huge cam and be the sh!* but look to spend 3500 to 5000 grand on the whole setup there is more than just heads to make power or spend 3000 and get close to AFR numbers and spank any LT1 heads cam package tell me if iam wrong there is now lt1 head that out flows a lt4 with the same work done it is a choice you have to make if you get the lt4 you are just one step ahead of yor competion

Yes, there is an advantage, ported for ported, but not much. Its hard to justify those prices considering what the LE3's will flow.

Here's another vote for going with a LE head and cam set-up. And while your at it have Lloyd do a little work to your intake also.

And when I read something like that it hurts my brain just a little bit. Anyone else have that problem or is it just me?

I call on Injuneer's remark, there is a period in the 4th line.

This should be a sticky on how NOT to post on the forum cause I gave up trying up reading it due to laughing historically at the **** poor grammar. Sorry for being so insensitive.

Oh and oh yeah, LE1 > LT4.

ummmmm.... that would be the "only a single punctuation remark" that I mentioned

Seriously... I don't like to pick on people for spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc, and I don't want this thread to get sidetracked by my post.

But it is important for people to understand that while you might have some really valuable information to share, its no going to be read or understood if its not presented in some sort of coherent manner.
