that was written before the oil prices went up its not 2.50 a gall anymore. i went to a paint store last week the day i opened the thred and it was about 11 for xlyene and 13 for toulene

 

IMO putting xylene in your fuel is a waste of time and money

I have used xylene as a thinner it evaporates faster than gasoline.
There are different brands and different chemicals added to xylene to make it stronger or weaker chemical agent. It can also be made by a chemist to be used for specific applications. If you want to boost your octane buy race gas

because this is way cheaper than race gas and the octane is higher.
