Walbro 255? 340? Need a little advice...

I've got my original fuel pump in my 95 Z28 and think I should probably get it replaced before it leaves me somewhere. I know very little about this area and could use some advice. I see some people on this forum using Walbro 255 or 340. Can anyone make a recommendation on what I'll need? I don't even know if I just need the pump or if I need other stuff to go along with it (i.e. a kit of some kind)? I just need to hand everything I'll need to my mechanic so that he can yank the stock one out and put the new one in. I'm also going to most likely be putting LE2 heads & cam on it at the same time so should be making more power than I am now.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Robert

yea they are basically just plug and play, they have a different plug(or at least mine did) that just takes splicing and soldering to fix that...( do that AWAY from the fuel tank of course )

255lph is more than enough. If you start running out of fuel with a 255, you'll need bigger lines before you go larger than 255.

The Walbro 255 lph is the common pump people use. The 255 stands for the flow capacity of the pump at a pressure of 43 psi. "340" is a part number, not a flow capacity.

I highly recommend you go with the Racetronix setup. They modify a stock Walbro pump to allow it to fit properly in the stock fuel "bucket" inside the gas tank. I bought the standard Walbro and wish I would have gone the Racetronix route (helped a freind install his Racetronix setup, better solution).
