I hooked the existing wire harness back up and now everything is fine, its charging, the gauge reads correctly etc. Hence I think that I have a bad wire somewhere but even shaking the wire/connector did not make it happen again so I am just going to drive it as is and wait for it to happen again.

I am using AllData. Its a 70GB automtive program. I am selling it tho. its on a external firewire harddrive.

check the contacts on the connector. and try wiggling the wires alot, see if it happens again.

As soon as I get some help I will wiggle the wires and see what happens, in the mean time I will leave my "jumper" wire in place as a backup so all I have to do is swap connectors and I am back up and running.

How much for the alldata program? and is it just for the camaro?

oh no.. alldata covers every car (that u can think of) from 1982 threw 2006. it has everything you ever wanted to know about any car.. I mean ANYTHING, walkthres, picstures drawings specs TSB's.

Yeah I mixed on whether I want something to happen to it again, since that would most likely mean that I would need take the dash apart to get to the instrument cluster....

Would definitely love to have that manual, I will see if I can scrap together some money!
