voltage dips at WOT

I have noticed that at 1/2 to WOT my voltage dips right between 8 and 13 volts (im guessing thats 10.5 to 11V) .. this is with my stereo off and no lights except DRL... is there a way to keep the DRL off at all times unless manually selected?

Also what would cause my voltage to dip so much?

I had an underdrive pulley from BBK (crank pulley) and my volts were extremely low at idle. but with any amount of gas, it would go back to normal. I ended up taking the pulley off and the volts are fine.

I dont have a underdrive pulley... my volts stay at around 12ish volts at idle, it only dips during harder driving..

I haven't seen it in the programming software, but I know some cars shut the alternator off at WOT. I've never heard of that with LT1's though.

You can't go by the gage. First confirm across the battery that it's at 14 volts at idle. Then stop worrying about nothing. Unless you drive all the time at WOT.

well its more like the voltage drains more the higher the RPMs go... also its not just the guage... the speedo flicks instead of being a smooth rise

this is normal for these cars. Under a wot pass mine goes from 14.2 volts down to 12.9 chased it for a year couldnt get anywhere then heard others did the same with no luck. If you need voltage get the boost a pump
