Virgin outing to a track :D

Went to the local dragstrip last weekend, it was my first time at a track ever. I managed a best of a 14.1 @ 98 with a 2.1 60 foot. I didn't even mess with my tire pressure, so I know next time I can hopefully bring the 60 foot down. What kinda pressure should I run, stock tire size? I don't want it to wear on them too terribly bad, I don't have all kinds of money for new tires. These times were before I had exhaust on my car too.

Re: Virgin outing to a track :D

that 60 foot isnt too bad for your mods and on street tires. You can lower your psi a little bit, but for the most part you wanna keep the psi up on street tires. For me, the best improvement on my 60 foot was learning how to launch....until I got my BFG drag radials, and then I pretty much just floored it. Get some more track time and experiment a little with the psi, but dont go too low with it, or your gonna spin even worse.
