victor EFI intake ... try or pass?

I was planning on buying a supervic #2925 to get converted for my '94 then I saw the victor EFI. It has optional fuel rails and bungs cast in for the injectors, costs $320, and is based on the super vic but is 2" shorter (if I remember correctly). I know I need an aftermarket hood but want to get as short of a cowl as possible, even an SS hood if possible. Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

Knowing Edelbrock, the LT1 airgap is going to suck...IF it comes out. I want flow data and prices!

You can also look into the Accel Pro Ram single plane intake. It has the bungs already cast into it, along with the fuel rail stantions for like $350 through Summit (PN 74140), or the same intake with fuel rails for like $479. This is the same intake that Joe Overton uses.

The Edelbrock intake is unfortuantely not based off of the SuperVictor. The Edelbrock is based off of the Victor E which is a slightly internally larger version of the Victor Jr. (The E is actually the OLD Victor manifold from back in the day).

The picture on the Edelbrock website is not of the actual manifold.

A converted SuperVictor is available from Wilson Manifolds with rails.

This is my exact intake.

I have the Victor "E" and love it! Fits under an SS hood. PortPros did the conversion for me. It says on Edlebrock's website that the Victor E rpm range was like from 4000-8500 rpms. So it flows really well and has lots of plenum volume. Only drawback is you have to do quite a bit of porting on it.

Check out the 29135 super victor E-tec, 2.6 cross section, runners should line up with minor porting, bungs already there. $290 from summit.

Re: victor EFI intake ... try or pass?

Fast 93 Z, are you saying that's the same manifold as the Victor EFI? Also, does it come with the fuel rail standoffs like the accel intake? What part number did you use?

The accel intake that has the standoffs and rails... how tall is it? I'm trying to get an idea if it'll clear my hood and of price, etc...

I dont care if I have to have it ported. I'm expecting to have to at least get it port matched at a bare minimum anyway. Considering a full race port. Want enough on the top to tap nitrous into under the carb flange.

Do we have any flow data on these intakes? As long as they eclipse the 280cfm mark I should be ok, no losses to the cylinder head.

Look again, the intake in the picture has a dominator flange. The Victor E EFI intake, which I own, is set up for a 4150.

Re: victor EFI intake ... try or pass?

I'm not a big fan of the Vic EFI vs. a SuperVic. The SuperVics are what I use when I do the intakes due to a lot of things, weight, port shape, material left for porting ect.... the SuperVic is a better casting to start from.

Lots of work if you want it to look good and function properly.
