vibration problem

I have a 6'' rod 383 with le2 heads and le4 cam. At about 4000- 6500rpms it vibrates. the rotating assembly was ballanced. and i had the flywheel neutral ballanced.

Could the clutch be causing this? any1 have any ideas?

The pressure plate should have been balanced with the FW and eng., most clutch imbalance shows up at 2500-3500rpm but a small imbalance could be there at higher rpm's, check eng. mounts also. Danny Mc

When I did my rebuild, exactly like you did yours so it seems, I noticed a vibration also but I have to attribute it now to poly mounts. It is slight but was not there before. With the car just running too perfect, I decided not to worry about it.

Anything else you changed?

Would a fluid dampner help any? Eagle balanced this kit on a hines balancer. They told me the factory dampner was already internaly balanced and all i had to do was have the flywheel neutral balanced.

Where should i start or what should i do? I live near Dallas,TX. Any1 know of some1 that could look at it?

I went out and cranked it up today. I held my hand on the motor and gunned it but i really couldn't feel any vibration so I dont think it is the motor it self. I sat in the car and gunned it and i could mostly feel the vibration in the seat. it doesn't matter if you are in neutral or driving it when you rev it or get on it the vibration comes in at about 3500rpms and gets worse the higher you go. Where should i start Looking???

Any way to check what the machine shop did? PP balanced also? I had my whole flywheel and clutch assy neutral balanced with the PP. It was then marked and I assembled it as marked. Marked means the PP and flywheel were indicated where they should go together in order to produce zero balance.

How bad is this vibration? In the seat seems pretty bad. Mine is only a slight flutter in the clutch pedal and that is all.
