Vibration from center console at high speeds

Anyone with the M6 have this prob? Above 85 (on the track ), when I let off the gas, the center console starts vibrating.. If I stay on the gas, it doesn't. If I push the clutch in at those speeds, same thing, or if I throw it in neutral..

Any ideas? Driveshaft outta whack? Not sure why it wouldn't vibrate under load though, and only when coasting..

Also, if I remember correctly, my 94 Formula A4 did the same thing..

Thanks for any help.

First thing that comes to mind would be your tranny mount is shot. There will be posts to follow regarding which one to get.

Oh yeah? My tranny mount crapped the bed twice in my Formula, and the symptom was when I gave it hard throttle, it would go CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK

Then I got the Polyeurothane one, and it never broke again..

I can go WOT and it doesn't vibrate, just does it above 85mph..

Do you have an energy suspension tranny mount? Those make things vibrate more.

Well then just climb under there and change out the tranny mount. Its like a $35 part. After that you should be good to go. Now if it starts to feel like your tranny fell out of the car when you hit the gas, then its definately the tranny mount. Either way, change and your issue should be resolved.

forget the ES mount. Stock or 1LE is better. $35-$40 and your good to go. Not too sure whos good on the ES mount though. I got mine from ls1,otorsports like 3 years ago for my 98 T/A. I hated it.

Yeah, I didn't think it was the tranny mount. I've had a couple bust on my Formula, and it was totalyl different..

I guess I should see about getting a new balanaced DS.

Thanks

What can I look to spend on a new driveshaft? Can I install it myself, or will I need a shop to do it? What do you think a shop would charge?

Thanks

I ordered a new one instead of re-balancing mine.. I paid $239 shipped to my house..

It's not a tough job, you can do it yourself it you have jackstands.
