vibration

i have a strong vibration from the front end of my car at about 74mph and it gets worse the faster i got. i read a few posts about the drive shaft being the problem but most people say that it goes away after about 85. mine doesn't stop it just gets worse. i thaught it could be the wheel bearings but autozone told me that you have to buy the whole hub assembly. eveyrthing is original with 142k miles on it. any suggestions on what it cuold be?

It could be anything with that many miles on it. Wheel berrings, ball joints, or a bad alignment.

If you feel it only in the front of the car its most likely not the driveshaft. How is your alignment? Your car is getting up there on miles and it maybe starting to take a toll.

Could also be a warped wheel, cupped tire, wheel/tire out of balance...

Check to see if you broke a belt in the tire.. jack up the front and spin the wheels by hand and see if theres a bump or buldge on it.. Had that happen to me.. Good luck

the trans came out when i got the clutch changed but it was done professionally

i figure the tire is a little bit out of balance
the alignment is perfect

about the wheel berrings? where do you get them? autozone tells me they can only get the whole hub and its about 140 each. is that the only way to get it done?
