Vented opti and vortech elbow.....what did you do?

I am buying a vortech elbow from buddy and it has no hole for my vented opti.Should I just drill a hole in the thing and find a tiny grommet? Or can I leave the opti vent hanging.Does it have to be in the airstream to suck the air out of the opti from vacuum.I don't really feel like drilling my nice shiny
elbow if there is another way.How bad is it to just have the vent tube hanging there..I would guess that would be pretty useless right?

Drill a hole somewhere in your rubber connectors. Between the maf and the intake. You can always put it under so no one can see it. DO NOT leave it hanging as you will create a uncontrolled vacumm leak that will suck in dirty air.

Mine is "hanging" right now , it's just ziptied to my maf wires. I drilled a hole in the elbow and it worked allright but it was ugly and I eventually ripped the grommet from so many ins and outs. I would definitely make a hole in something more flexible so the grommet isn't as likely to break- preferably at a spot after the maf, as it is technically metered air, even though it's basically an insignificant amount.
