VATS and EGR

I know this is stupid but what are VATS and EGR? I'm filling out the pcmforless form and I'm not sure what these mean. Thanks.

vats is a anti theft thing, and egr is the pipes that run from your headers to th eback of the intake manifold. the vats is useless if you have an aftermarket alarm or auto started, and the egr returns exhaust gas to the intake for emissions

VATS = vehicle anti-theft system, thats why there is a resistor in your ignition key, some people by-pass it, it can be problems, mine has given me problems. EGR = exhaust gas recirculation, there is a valve on the back of the intake that controls that.
