valvetrain upgrade...

im thinking about a supercharger of some sort but in the meantime i want to get a little extra power with some good valvetrain upgrades. should i get a cam, a complete package, 1.6 rockers, or what. im not too sure what would be the best choice on a budget. i can do any work myself, but i was wondering what would be the smartest choice here. gonna be mostly stock except some bolt ons, with the exception of the cam and maybe soem head work. what do u guys think? thanks

Cam, 1/6 rockers, springs (depending on which cam). Have you done an exhaust already?

Too many choices to make a recommendation. Try a search on valve springs
and do some reading. I have posted at length on valvetrain so search by my
user name if all else fails.

I'd say on top of the mods listed above, get some headers to help that thing breath. Your gonna need them later anyway, even with a blower.

Re: valvetrain upgrade...

i was planning on getting the MAC headers with the y-pipe too, cause right now i have all stock exhaust but no muffler, it just goes over the axle and splits into the 2 stock tail pipes. BTW how big is the stock exhaust pipe after the cat. im thinking about possibly this kit here...

thats all i would need right? as far as what would be neccesary and what would be best to upgrade right? i need to pay my parents back some money right now and im gonna get new LCA's, relocation brackets, and drop springs for a little better stance and what not, plus one of my LCA's has a decent size kink in it. anyways, im hoping by next year i can change the rear main seal cause its leaking, do the cam, and get a good valve job done. does ne one know how hard it is, and what the procedure is on the LT1s, to change the rear main. is it a 2 piece or what? does the trans have to come out or anythign like that. if anyone has a walkthrough or somethign thatd be great. thanks for all the help.
