The bowl is the area inside the intake runner right before the valve, nothing to do with the spring pockets. Valves that large would need atleast new seats, but as with most things, its probably possible with enough money.

Not on an LT1 head, even with recut valve seats. A 2.08 is a monster, and there just isnt room.

Hmm...there have been some posts of people with 2.08 valves.

If Seal would bother to search (which he never seems to do), he would not have to ask.

Bigger is not always better either, at some point shrouding becomes a problem.

Spinner thats what confuses me, you are the 2nd person to say that, but this guy has a head shop (CFM) and told me these are lt1 alum heads...

i thought the 2.055 was the largest valve you can fit in a stock lt1 head!!the afr head can be fitted with a valve that size.

But not with a 1.65 exhaust valve also. Thats almost .25 inches more valve width then stock, there just isnt that much room there

My AFRs are 2.08/1.60, and that seems like fairly tight spacing.

Re: are valves this big possible on an lt1 heads...

I am running stock LT1 castings (iron) on my 96 Impala SS. They are Agistino ported and have 2.05/1.60 valves in them. I posted the same question reasontly and was told 2.05 is the largest seen on stock castings. There is maybe a sheet of paper between the valves. I have never seen 2.08's in stock castings aluminum or iron.
