Just installed my new LE3 package on my Car and was run the stock lifter and I could hear them bottoming out. Then I upgraded to Comps R lifter and it sounds as if they're do the same as the stockers but to a lesser extent. The Springs on the car are comp 977 with the seats at 150lb and 390lb opened, and the cam lift is .355 on 1.6 ratio rocker arms. It's not a consistent rock arm noise. It makes a TINK TINK type sound that is'nt consistent. Would a heavier oil solve the problem or do I need to readjest the rocker arms? Need help badly and is it ok to driver the car with a lifter problem?

No, it has gmpp rockers and it makes the noise with the covers off.

 

Heavy oil will probably not help.You should find out what it is before driving it.

 

sounds to me like you just need to adjust rockers. also bearin mind the new rockers and springs are going to be louder than a stock setup, perhaps you're just not used to the added sound?

 

sounds like you might have a rocker or two a little loose, but thats easy to check out just look for some with slack in them when they're on the heel of the cam. other than that like the guys said before aftermarket rockers and other parts tend to be noisier than factory.
